Another great meeting at Loughborough Speakers Club this week. The meeting commenced with an interesting speech by Aude Crosnier. This is Aude’s second speech at the club, with her title, ‘Which Language Could Build Peace Here and Now’. In her speech, Aude mentioned a book by Dr Gary Chapman called The Five Love Languages and the 5 ways to express love. This was followed by a speech delivered by Bipon Bhakri called ‘Never Stop Dreaming’. Bipon inspired us to never forget our dreams. Finally we heard Christine’s ‘Blue Book Project’ speech which fired up our imaginations with stories of UFO’s. Training at this meeting gave us strategies for boosting our gestures when giving a speech. Sue then provided an entertaining topics session, which was won by our guest Siobhan Barrett, who was given the question, ‘If you had to be famous, what would you want to be famous for’ and confidently came up to the lectern and gave a wonderfully entertaining response. A great evening was had by all!
